Fortnite began from an internal game jam at Epic Games following the publishing of Gears of War 3 around 2011. Though it was not initially one of the developed titles during the jam, the concept of merging the construction game genre, representing games like Minecraft and Terraria, and shooter games arose, leading to the foundation of Fortnite. Download the Origin client, grab a soda (or tea, if that's your thing), and dig into that game you've been obsessing over. Sounds like a perfect day to us. The most popular storefront for PC gamers has allowed sharing for quite some time now. Epic Games has a lot riding on Fortnite. After all, it is the studio’s most successful game. However, not many are aware of the origin of Fortnite or even Epic Games. Moreover, the two also share a common origin with Unreal Engine, one of the most common game engines. It all started 30 years ago.
A new Fortnite Season 6 gameplay feature has possibly leaked. Right now in the free-to-play Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and mobile battle royale game, players can buy weapons and more from NPCs. It wasn't that long ago that all of this was added, and while NPCs have proven divisive, it looks like they aren't just staying in the game, but being expanded upon with new options.
For a couple of months, leaks and rumors have suggested the option to sell your loot to NPCs was coming to the game. Right now, this option still hasn't been added, but a new leak suggests it's still coming, likely sometime during Season 6.
Taking to Twitter, prominent Fortnite leaker HypeX revealed a new icon that has been to the game's files by Epic Games that's related to this new feature. Further, they have relayed word that when you sell an expensive item to an NPC, they will use the 'Make it Rain' emote. Minecraft vr windows update must be enabled. Lastly, HypeX notes that the prices for selling loot to NPCs are the same as weapon upgrades.
Below, you can check out the tweet and icon for yourself. And as you can see, the leaker also notes that all of this content could be scrapped at this point.
More info about the selling loot feature: this is the icon that is supposed to show when you interact with NPCs, also when you sell an expensive item the NPC is supposed to do the 'Make It Rain' emote. I have no idea if they scrapped this idea or if its gonna have limits tho! pic.twitter.com/Bal9HTpQpq

Fortnite For Computers
For now, take everything here with a grain of salt given that not only is it all unofficial and speculative, but it's also subject to change. It's possible Epic Games is adding this option to NPC interactions, but who knows if it will come before, during, or after Season 6. Further, just because that's the plan now, doesn't mean things won't change.

Epic Games is settling lawsuits related to the use of loot boxes in Fortnite and Rocket League and players of both games can expect to receive in-game currency as a result. Players that purchased loot boxes in either game will be given 1000 V-Bucks in Fortnite, or 1000 Credits in Rocket League. Loot Llamas were previously offered in Fortnite: Save the World, but were removed and replaced with X-Ray Llamas after some players took issue with the way they awarded items. Similarly, Rocket League players were previously able to purchase Event Crates or keys that were used to open crates. This was later replaced by the Blueprint system.
'We stopped offering random item loot boxes like Fortnite Loot Llamas and Rocket League Crates because we realized that some players were repeatedly disappointed by not receiving the random items they hoped for. Players should know upfront what are paying for when they make in-game purchases,' said Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney in a statement.
The settlement is supposed to be for U.S. players only, but Epic Games announced that players worldwide can expect to receive the in-game currency, provided they purchased loot boxes in either game. Players will not have to apply for the funds; they will be automatically added to the player's account 'over the next few days,' though a specific date was not revealed. This is a one-time credit from the publisher, so players that purchased multiple Loot Llamas or Event Crates should not expect to receive additional funds. The offer does not apply to those that purchased X-Ray Llamas.
The use of loot boxes proved to be quite controversial throughout the video game industry, resulting in a heavy pushback from gamers. The practice was frequently compared to a form of video gambling, since players could spend large amounts of money while still ending up disappointed with the items they received. It remains to be seen whether or not Fortnite and Rocket League players will be happy with the settlement, but fans outside the U.S. will likely celebrate the decision to offer it worldwide.
